I am currently a senior at CU getting my BFA in art with a focus in drawing and painting. I became interested in digital art around early high school, and played around with photoshop even though I had no formal lessons on and had to self-teach. Now, if I am doing digital art on my own, I use the app Procreate. I like to experiment with different textures/patterns into my relatively simple drawings. My favorite things to draw and paint are portraits or figurative work. One of the main influences on my art is what I am drawn to in my daily life. Additionally, I am inspired by other artists that I look up to such as illustrators for children’s books, figure painters, and digital drawings. My predominant mediums are graphite oil and acrylic painting but I have also been experimenting with gouache more recently. 

I like to approach art-making with an open mind. One of my favorite ways to make art is sketching because I like how easily accessible it is and the simplicity in it. I usually sketch on a daily basis in order to be constantly be creating something. I usually use graphite because I enjoy the mark-making with it and the overall delicate nature of it. 

I make art because I enjoy it and I like illustrating what is around me.  My drive to make art is to capture emotions, beauty, or simply just capturing what I see around me. I enjoy work that is sketchy, playful and colorful.  I think of my art as light-hearted, delicate and colorful.
