The Rise of Digital Art- OWDT

Digital art started to become more popular during the digital age (1950-70). This introduced art to television, computers, etc. Digital art has blurred the line between mediums. Such as the accessibility of it and that it's constantly evolving. From AI art, to Virtual reality. As digital art becomes more popular and well-known there are now museums dedicated to it. Even with digital video (versus the traditional film process), it allows for a better workflow, is cheaper and easier as well. It allows for more control over the framing, color, etc. The article also brings up the argument that some people say that digital art is not real art. Then, there is the introduction of NFTs to the art world. Which has revolutionized how art is bought/collected. It has also has been a big disruptor of the art world, because now artists can mint, exhibit and auction their artwork. However, museums still hold back against showing NFTs due to the complexity and volatility of NFTs. Overall, I think this article does a good job of summarizing the evolution of digital art. It puts an interesting perspective on the timeline of digital art and where it seems to be going in the future. It seems like people are slowly warming up to digital art. There are a lot of positives with digital art, such as accessibility and control. However, there seems to be a lot of issues with NFTs and the instability of the work.
